Second Formal YouTube Debate with Dr. Michael Brown Confirmed!

I am thrilled to announce that we now have a confirmed date for a second formal YouTube debate between Dr. Michael Brown and Dr. Don K. Preston. Dr. Brown and Dr. Preston engaged in a wonderful, courteous formal debate on YouTube on June 3, 2014. You can watch that first exchange here. Interest in that exchange was great and continues, as almost 20,000 have viewed it on YouTube alone, not counting many, many other sites. The topic of that first debate was “All Israel Shall Be Saved” past or future, with Dr. Brown affirming that at a yet future coming of the Lord, Israel will be converted to Christ as Messiah. Dr. Preston affirmed that Romans 11 teaches that Israel’s distinctive covenant history was brought to its climax and consummation with the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70.

Naturally, a subject as vast as this did not allow for full investigation of many issues that were raised, such as Paul’s declaration that Israel’s salvation would come only at the “fullness of the Gentiles.” Since there was not enough time to investigate that critical topic in the first exchange, this second debate will see the two disputants discuss the “Fulness of the Gentiles.” In addition, the topic of “the times of the Gentiles’ (Luke 21:24) which Dr. Brown sees as synchronous with the fullness of the Gentiles, will be discussed. Dr. Brown affirms that Luke 21:24 is a clear-cut prediction of the reversal of fortune for Jerusalem and Israel, at some point in the future. Needless to say, this is a tremendously important discussion! Quite simply, if neither Romans 11 or Luke 21:24 do not contain the promise of the yet future restoration of Israel, then, I would kindly suggest that the entire house of Zionism is falsified.

This second debate will likewise be aired live on YouTube, and the date is May 19, at 4:30 Eastern time (3:30 central). As he was for the first debate, Dr. James White of the Alpha and the Omega Ministry will be the moderator for the debate. We appreciate his participation.

This is a debate that you do not want to miss! Countless Bible students have commented on the gentlemanly, courteous, respectful and Christian decorum of the first debate. I commend Dr. Brown for his “hospitality” and willingness to engage in these discussions. This kind of Christian controversy allows people to focus on the issues and the evidence, and not have to deal with irrelevant caustic verbiage that casts a shadow on the very idea of Christian controversy. It truly is a sad thing when men– who call themselves ministers and preachers– simply cannot engage in proper dialogue on issues that separate believers, without question their opponent’s integrity and sincerity, much less their standing before the Lord!

So, mark you calendars now, for May 19, 4:30 EASTERN TIME, for this very important debate. Have your Bibles and notebooks handy! This promises to be a great debate! We will, naturally, be posting the direct links to the YouTube channel so that you can log in and watch and listen live, so stay tuned!
