What would happen if the sun became seven times brighter / hotter than normal? Not good, right? Well, Isaiah promised Israel that if they would submit the YHVH and not fight against the Assyrians under Sennecherib, that He would bless them by making the sun seven times brigher than normal! This demands a critical re-evaluation of the claim that “the Bible says what it means and means what it says!” A woodenly literalistic hermeneutic such as this creates huge problems!
