It is also the first of his letters written to the churches. His purpose was to comfort the saints during intense persecution. In this fourth chapter, Paul teaches on the prophecy that Christ gave in Matthew 24. Thessalonians continues to perplex and amaze Bible students. One thing is certain, Paul did not predict a rapture or the end of the world! He was predicting events for the first century generation, events that were fulfilled!
